Grant Making in 1999

1.Thailand: National Council for Child and Youth Development (NCYD)

NCYD provides grants to strengthen and expand youth-led community service programs, rural youth career training programs, community schools, and violence and drug prevention programs. It also documents lessons learned on AIDS prevention through youth catalysts. In addition, NCYD provides capacity building support to NGOs working with young people and work aggressively to raise funds for its programs.

2.Mexico: Fundacion Comunitaria de Oaxaca (FCO)

The FCO provides grants to benefit low-income populations in Oaxaca, especially children and youth. Examples of grants include support for street-based children, youth-led community development programs, and cultural activities. FCO also provides technical assistance and training to NGOs working in the area of children, youth and women development and promotes social responsibility among Oaxacan leaders

3.Phillipines: Children and Youth Foundation of the Philippines (CYFP)

CYFP is coordinating and hosting the Asian Regional Meeting on Youth Participation in August 2001. Youth participation has long been a topic of great importance for the International Youth Foundation (IYF) and its Asian country partners. It is both regarded as a strategy for and an outcome of positive youth development. This year, the Regional Meeting is intended to facilitate a dialogue among youth and adult participants on strategies and skills that promote and support mainstreaming of youth participation into social structures, institutions and processes.
